Online version https://fabien.benetou.fr/pub/home/future_of_text_demo/content/kenney_mini-market/builder.html even though not responsive yet. Mostly threw it there to show to a friend this morning. The new click to select an asset works well there though but does not work yet with modifier. Also exporting with copy/paste isn’t convenient.

Still some offset on manipulating images to fix, surely because they are relative to the document pose.

Extending the PDF viewer to add manipulable images to its side. Bit messy but it works. Also filters out using transparency being on the right page or not.

I’ve given quite a few workshops across a wide range of locations, ages, expertise, etc.
I need to provide new affordances to them, for everyone :
- myself (code, concepts, etc),
- recent participants (+ photos),
- future participants (+ timeline),
- other giving workshops.

Meanwhile a skateboard is very affordable, can be built at home relatively easily, can be shared and the “fuel” is my own energy.

There is often pressure from hierarchies to “implement” novelty.

Idea for computational storytelling diff
- extract dialogs (speech to text or dl subs)
- infer dyads with tagged relationship
- plot the evolution of relationships over time
…then compare with every story ever told to Man.

Please do try this kind of things, do tinker, but be mindful of the genuine cost (not “just” ecological, economical, and even political).π§ βοΈ

I understand the technical point. I do have a PKM (running for more than a decade now, used daily) and I do have a page on part of it dedicated to self-hosted AI, cf https://fabien.benetou.fr/Content/SelfHostingArtificialIntelligence so the combination of both is appealing, but it begs the question…

It is not “just” about “averaging” to the most common potential next word, thus removing whatever could be new, and thus interesting, but it’s also that the 1%, 10%, 20% of mistakes are truly damaging. It’s hard to fix only to backtrack and wonder what was indeed the idea.

The very fact of writing is thinking. If writing itself become a distraction, are you still thinking?
