Strangely enough works in adb shell but using this in termux it does open a browser tab but not showing any content, not even the chrome UI. It keeps on loading.

I bought them a while ago https://twitter.com/utopiah/status/567327370903031808 so I can’t say but it’s pretty easy to get and quite affordable, usually less than 1EUR/piece.

Nice, actually I etched the wallet itself too https://twitter.com/utopiah/status/1552270301920202752
I wouldn’t recommend to everyone though because the sliding does slowly but surely damage cards. After a couple of years of usage they become barely usable … but they also get replaced so🤷♂️ guess it’s fine.

Etched a business card with an NFC sticker on the back. 5min design, 10min laser cut.
Tap on it with your phone, get a URL to get straight to the metaverse!😅

Related https://twitter.com/utopiah/status/1645434640608419842 again the concept itself is interesting and important yet must be compared with alternatives with total cost of ownership, not just the happy path or cool tech demo.

Actually fascinating because despite the hype around auto prompting, how code generation can be used on its own product, the pace of change seems just as slow as everywhere else🫂 https://twitter.com/mschoening/status/1646210083062439936

Damn, very nice, it’s ridiculously small! Does it solely serve files or is it possible to run ones own networking server, e.g node for Networked AFrame, on it?

To clarify that doesn’t happen with a phone on the same access point so I would assume, and I didn’t check that precisely, it is specific to the Quest, not the AP problem.

it seems I get “kicked” out of the WiFi regularly because it doesn’t have a connection. Is that normal? I believe I had that problem also while tethering to a phone while flying. Is there an option to reliable use WiFi without Internet?

Even though it runs on a RPi400 the resulting 3D/XR experience has pretty much nothing to do with that.
The server can be very low power yet provide beautiful content to all connected devices.
Here instead of the minimalist landscape a large @glTF3D with no performance hit.👌

To be clear I mean Web yet still offline. Being able to manage minimal configuration services e.g
- shutdown,
- reboot,
- change WiFi name,
- add/remove WiFi password,
- modify code for the immersive page
and of course links to the projects used.

If it does fit in a RPi0 and can easily be scripted, as in both making an image but also staying up to date, makes me want to buy a few and give them away during workshops for participants that show the most initiative.🤔
Could be nice with a Web-based control dashboard.

Note that the 2 (there is a dark blue behind the light green) heads are from a desktop and a mobile, showing that we don’t have to all be immersed to be together. In fact leveraging asymmetries can be interesting pedagogically IMHO https://twitter.com/utopiah/status/1639367930344292355

The “proof” that it works offline and immersive. We can be together without sharing everything to the whole world. We can have connectivity locally. It’s not all or nothing.

So here it’s done on another device, not the headset itself, so that others can connect to it but still be a bit more, I hope, resilient in terms of connectivity. Plus to be honest I’m not sure one can transform an unrooted Android based headset to an AP.

VR headsets are not required, one can join with their mobile phone.
Also this is done offline, the RPi is a open access point, following https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/computers/configuration.html#setting-up-a-routed-wireless-access-point without WPA, serving the @ImmersiveWebW3C content and networking between devices.
